5 sports. 1 city. 1 day. It had never happened before in the history of sports. Which naturally begged the question—what if you could attend them all? With just 36 hours to prepare, no official access and the added challenge of LA traffic, we helped Goodyear make history for one lucky fan, continuing to position the Blimp as the center of the sports universe.

5 Sports. 1 City. 1 Day.

Together with former Heisman winner Desmond Howard, we surprised Marine Corps veteran and LA sports fan Orlando Henderson with the chance to make history by attending games from each of the five major American sports leagues in the same day. But first, we needed a lift. We started with a ride in the Blimp.

Game 1: Rangers vs. Kings (NHL)

Game 3: Packers vs. Rams (NFL)

Game 4: Red Sox vs. Dodgers, World Series (MLB)

Game 5: Wizards vs. Clippers (NBA)

Capturing the Event in Real Time

With Desmond Howard serving as both host and media partner, we shared the event in real-time through his social channels including Instagram and Twitter while teasing the event on our own. We then followed the duo with a small camera crew from game to game. Along the way, we captured additional content for a recap video that was edited together through the night. In the morning, that content was then picked up and shared by ESPN.

Results

In all, we garnered 99 million impressions that included numerous PR hits, a placement on SportsCenter, plus a genuine viral moment in which two Packers fans unwittingly tried to talk their team’s own former player into becoming a fan, himself. Headlines followed in Sports Illustrated, Yahoo! Sports, The Big Lead and more plus news coverage on ABC, NBC and the CW.
