Brandon Curl is a creative director and copywriter at GSD&M in Austin, Texas. He lives and works remotely from his home in Houston, having mastered the art of remote work long before it was cool.

Brandon is passionate about writing his own briefs and using the power of creativity to make a difference for his clients and the world.

The children’s book he co-created, “Hear My Voice/Escucha mi voz,” used the real testimony of children detained at the border to raise awareness and funding for children in migration and was named one of the “Best Books of the Year” by the New York Public Library. Meanwhile, his award-winning short film “A Man Like You,” which received the Glass Lion at Cannes and was named among Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas, helped to turn Harry’s from D-to-C e-tailer into billion-dollar brand.

Currently, Brandon serves as a creative director on Capital One for which he wrote the holiday campaign featuring John Travolta reprising his role in Saturday Night Fever as Santa. He also launched a blimp in the shape of Charles Barkley that flew to the Final Four.

In recent years, Brandon led the “newstalgia” rebrand at Pizza Hut, rebooting everything he loved about Pizza Hut as a kid for a new generation. With campaigns featuring Craig Robinson, Pac-Man and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, his work quickly led Pizza Hut to its best quarter in a decade.

Brandon’s work has been awarded at Cannes, One Show, Art Director’s Club, Andys, AICP, Addys, London International Awards, Communication Arts, Clios, Webbys, Effies and more. But he is still not a doctor. I know, mom.

A retired middle school science teacher, Brandon enjoys running short distances, producing podcasts, making spreadsheets for fun, serving as the Adam Schefter of his fantasy football league and watching college hoops. A native North Carolinian, Brandon now lives in Houston with his wife, Samantha, and their Boston terrier, Oliver.
